Visualforce to Lightning migration (WireBright)
Migration of EG Manufacture's Visualforce application to Lightning Web Components at WireBright Consulting.
Context
EG Manufacture, a large tapestry manufacturer, was using Salesforce Classic with Visualforce pages and JavaScript buttons — all incompatible with Lightning Experience. WireBright Consulting managed the migration. Mission: inventory all components to migrate, produce technical specifications comparing available options, and convert the components to Lightning (LWC / Quick Actions) with before/after evidence.
Analysis of Existing Setup
- Complete inventory of active Visualforce pages and JavaScript buttons to migrate
- For each component: feature analysis, migration risks and Lightning alternatives
- Prioritization matrix: business impact × technical complexity × dependencies
- Detailed specifications with 2 to 3 options per component (pros/cons + cost estimate)
- Comparative screenshots Classic vs Lightning for the 3 main screens
Migration Completed
- Visualforce pages converted to Lightning Web Components (LWC) or Aura Components based on complexity
- JavaScript buttons replaced by Salesforce Lightning Quick Actions
- Migrated components validated: functional tests on Lightning sandbox
- Lightning gains documented: productivity, improved UX, native mobile access
- Code deployed via Salesforce DX and validated on EG sandbox Lightning pages
